Aligners: Angel Aligners and Invisalign
Angel Aligners
Angel Aligners is a premium clear aligner system used by a small number of specially trained orthodontists. Elate is among the largest Angel Aligner providers in Texas, and Dr. Baharvand lectures nationally training other orthodontists on the system. That means you are being treated by one of the most experienced Angel Aligner clinicians in the state.
Angel Aligners are priced the same as traditional metal braces at Elate. No upcharge for choosing clear aligners. The same result, without the metal.
Invisalign
Elate Orthodontics is a certified Invisalign provider. Invisalign uses a series of custom-manufactured clear trays to move teeth gradually and predictably. It is a trusted, widely studied system with decades of clinical data behind it, and a strong option for teens and adults who want flexibility and discretion during treatment.
Like Angel Aligners, Invisalign is priced the same as braces at Elate. You choose the treatment that is right for you, not the one that fits a budget constraint.
Traditional Braces and Clear Braces
Traditional Metal Braces
Modern metal braces are significantly smaller, lighter, and more efficient than what most parents remember from their own treatment. Self-ligating bracket systems reduce friction and can shorten overall treatment time in many cases. Metal braces remain the most cost-effective orthodontic option and are capable of treating the full range of case complexity from mild crowding to severe bite issues.
Metal braces are the most popular choice for children and teens, and remain a strong option for adults who want reliable, proven results at the lowest price point.
Clear Ceramic Braces
Clear braces use tooth-colored ceramic brackets that blend with the natural shade of your teeth, making them far less visible than metal braces while providing the same mechanical effectiveness. They are particularly popular with older teens and adults who want the reliability of fixed braces without the metallic appearance.
The ceramic material is stain-resistant and durable. Clear braces are an excellent middle ground between the discretion of aligners and the proven track record of fixed appliances.
Pediatric Orthodontics and Early Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic evaluation by age 7, before all permanent teeth have erupted. This is not about putting young children in braces. It is about identifying skeletal and developmental issues while growth is still on your side, when intervention is simpler and outcomes are better.
At Elate, we monitor growth annually and recommend Phase 1 treatment only when there is a genuine clinical benefit. When Phase 1 is indicated, we use conventional braces, palate expanders, and Angel Aligners. Most patients who complete Phase 1 go on to Phase 2 comprehensive treatment with a significantly simpler case and shorter overall treatment time.
Airway Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment and airway health are more closely linked than most patients realize. A narrow palate, crowded upper arch, or recessed lower jaw can restrict nasal airflow, contribute to mouth breathing, and in some cases worsen sleep-disordered breathing including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Airway-focused orthodontics considers the relationship between jaw development, breathing patterns, and overall health, not just the cosmetic result. For children especially, addressing airway issues during growth can have significant long-term benefits.
Palate Expanders
A palate expander gradually widens the upper jaw by separating the mid-palatal suture, which remains flexible in children and adolescents. This creates space for crowded teeth, corrects crossbites, and can improve nasal airway width. Timing is critical: expanders work best before the growth plates fuse, typically before the mid-teens.
When palate expansion is recommended early enough, it can simplify or even eliminate the need for tooth extractions in later comprehensive treatment.
Retainers
Teeth move throughout life. Retainers are what keep your orthodontic result intact after treatment ends. We offer custom clear Essix retainers, bonded fixed retainers, and Hawley retainers depending on your needs. Replacement retainers are available quickly at any location for existing and new patients.
All Elate patients are counseled on retainer wear at the end of treatment. We also offer the Retainer Assurance Program below for long-term retainer coverage.
Gingivectomy
A gingivectomy is a laser gum contouring procedure that removes excess gum tissue to reveal more of the tooth crown. It is commonly performed near the end of orthodontic treatment when gum overgrowth from braces or a naturally gummy smile would otherwise limit the cosmetic outcome.
The procedure is quick, minimally invasive with laser technology, and can make a significant difference in the final appearance of your smile.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth that are impacted, partially erupted, or crowding existing teeth often need to be removed. Timing the removal in coordination with orthodontic treatment can simplify overall care and protect the results of your braces or aligners.
Our team coordinates directly with oral surgeons in the Frisco and Colony area to ensure your wisdom tooth removal and orthodontic treatment are sequenced properly. We will advise you on timing during your treatment plan discussion.
Retainer Assurance Program
Retainers get lost, worn out, and broken. Without a protection plan, replacing a set can be costly. The Retainer Assurance Program is our way of protecting your orthodontic investment for a full decade after treatment ends.
For a one-time enrollment fee, you receive 10 years of Essix clear retainer replacements for upper and lower teeth with a small copay per set rather than the standard full replacement price. Call us for current program pricing.
