Cost is the first thing most parents ask me about, and I don’t blame them. So let me give you real numbers instead of an “it depends” runaround, then explain what actually changes the price. Because the range is wide for a reason.

The cost of braces in Texas can range from $3,000 to $7,500, depending on the type and the complexity of the case. Here is the breakdown:

- Your orthodontist’s training. A board-certified specialist prices differently than a general dentist doing occasional aligners.
- Extras. Some cases need a palate expander, elastics, or a retainer package a simple case will not.
How much do braces cost with insurance?
If your plan includes orthodontic coverage, it usually pays a lifetime benefit of roughly $1,000 to $3,500 per person. Not per year, and not a percentage of the whole bill. Because “we take your insurance” and “your insurance covers this” are two very different sentences.
