In an edge-to-edge bite, the upper and lower front teeth meet tip to tip instead of the uppers overlapping the lowers slightly.
It can look like a mild problem, but those edges grind against each other every time you bite, so chipping and flat, worn front teeth are common. It also sits one step away from an underbite, which is why the jaw relationship gets checked before anything else.
